The legendary Asbury Lanes was transformed into a musical crossroads on Sunday, June 14, 2026, as the Rockit Academy presented its highly anticipated spring showcase, “EAST COAST MEETS WEST COAST: Rock and Pop Essentials.” The evening was a high-octane celebration of musical evolution, marked by standout performances and a heartfelt transition for some of the academy’s most veteran talent.

The night exploded with energy from the very first note, as six students from the “LIVE TO ROCK” program took the stage performing alongside seasoned Rockit Academy students. Their enthusiasm and noticeable boost in confidence from their first show a year ago instantly won over the crowd.

The showcase also served as a poignant milestone for the Rockit community, marking a bittersweet farewell for five graduating seniors: Ari Manzanares, Aiden O’Grady-Thompson, Emersyn Freund, Madison Decker, and Sophia Dimayuga. Each of the seniors delivered powerful, career-defining performances for their final send-off show, proving exactly why they have been staples of the Rockit stage.

Among the night’s most memorable moments were Luke Ireland’s rockstar jump off the drum riser during Rockit’s cover of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “By the Way’ and Sophia Dimayuga’s soulful electric performance singing Patti Smith Group’s adaptation of “Gloria”, which showcased the technical precision and raw stage presence Rockit Academy is known for.

For over two decades, The Rockit Academy has remained dedicated to its mission: nurturing young musical talent and preserving the legacy of rock and roll for new generations. By blending mentorship with real-world performance experience at iconic venues, the program continues to set the standard for youth music education.

For those who missed the premiere—or those eager to experience the electric atmosphere once more—an encore performance is officially scheduled for July 12 at 7:00 PM at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club.
