A misconception is that every student that auditions already is an expert at their instrument. On the contrary, Rockit staff recognizes potential and passion and develops that potential. However, sometimes a student wants to take lessons before they jump into the band experience. Our instructors often work with students before they audition for Rockit Academy, and sometimes current students choose to take additional lessons to learn new instruments.
We offer private instruction in the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, vocals, saxophone. If you are interested in another instrument, please ask, because many of our instructors play a multitude of instruments.

For students who want to participate in Rockit Academy’s audition-based bands, private instruction is an important part of the program.
Current Rockit Academy requirements state that enrollment in private instruction is required for participation in the quarterly audition-based bands.
Private lessons and band instruction serve different but complementary purposes. One-on-one lessons provide focused development, while band rehearsals challenge musicians to listen, collaborate, prepare songs with other students, and apply their skills in a group environment.
Students accepted into Rockit Academy participate in group instruction and work toward live performances at the conclusion of a session.

Music Lessons at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ
Rockit Academy provides private instruction at Brookdale Community College, located at 765 Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, New Jersey.
The collaboration with Brookdale provides Rockit with rehearsal space as well as practice rooms used for one-on-one instruction. The Lincroft location makes Rockit Academy accessible to young musicians and families throughout Monmouth County and surrounding New Jersey communities.
