Twenty-five talented musicians from the Rockit Academy generously donated their time and talents on Sunday at Red Rock Tap and Grill in Red Bank, helping the Emmy Strong foundation raise an impressive $13,000. The successful fundraiser will significantly boost Emmy Strong’s mission to expand the National Bone Marrow Registry and support bone marrow patients.
“It’s truly inspiring to see our curriculum’s emphasis on community service come to life through our musicians,” said Rockit Live Foundation’s Executive Director, Bruce Gallipani. “It’s even more special that we got to support our sister, Emersyn!”
Despite intermittent rain, students performed 3 hours of music on Red Rock’s outdoor stage to a packed and engaged crowd who danced and sang along.
Emmy Strong, an inspiring 501(c)(3) organization, was founded by friends of Rockit Academy musician Emersyn Freund when she was in need of a bone marrow donor. Today, Emersyn and her dedicated friends continue their vital work. Their initiatives include organizing swabbing events to register potential donors, holding toy drives for Hackensack University Children’s Hospital, and distributing 100-day Milestone Charts to provide encouragement for bone marrow patients.
