Rockit is pleased to partner with Emmy Strong, a 501(C)(3) organization led by our own academy musician, Emersyn Freund. This organization was founded by Emersyn’s friends when she needed a bone marrow donor. The goal was to help increase the National Bone Marrow Registry in hopes of finding her a perfect donor. Emersyn and her friends now carry on Emmy Strong with the mission of continuing to grow the National Bone Marrow Registry so that anyone who needs a donor can find a donor and directly support bone marrow patients. They do this by hosting bone marrow swabbing events, toy drives for the pediatric oncology and bone marrow unit at Hackensack University Children’s Hospital, distributing 100-day Milestone Countdown Charts and Stickers to pediatric hospitals (100 days post-transplant is a BIG milestone to reach), and partnering with the National Bone Marrow Registry on numerous projects.
On Sunday June 8th, at 3pm, Rockit will be performing at an Emmy Strong fundraiser on the outdoor stage at Red Rock Tap and Grill in Red Bank.
This is another example of our curriculum emphasizing the importance of community charity efforts and encouraging our musicians to use their talents to help raise money and awareness for worthy causes in our community. Please join us!
