Why Rockit Academy?
Rockit distinguishes itself through its unwavering dedication to nurturing aspiring young musicians to their full potential. Our teachers prioritize students’ needs above all else, a commitment reflected in the success of our graduates, many of whom attend the nation’s top collegiate music programs.
Executive Director Bruce Gallipani’s exceptional diligence, dedication, and artistic vision are central to Rockit’s success. Our fundamental and organic approach to music education emphasizes cooperation and equity within an authentic and compassionate space. This fosters a shared goal: to cultivate quality, vibrant live music experiences for future generations.
“My involvement with students began with the talent show at St. Mary’s School. Many kids played instruments and took private music lessons but they weren’t connected to each other. I saw this was something important to give to young kids…a sense of sharing their music experiences together. I wanted to encourage them to learn and have fun together and return the mentorship that was given to me when I was a kid.”

How does each session work?
- Rockit has 4 sessions a year (fall, winter, spring, summer).
- Current and new students audition each session.
- Accepted students are assigned to at least one band, and sometimes multiple bands.
- Each band rehearses 2-3 assigned songs together.
- After 6-8 weeks of rehearsals, Rockit Academy performs a session show replete with high-production gear, sound and lighting at a professional venue.
- Session shows have encore performances that are held at another venue, such as Tim McLoone’s Supper Club, or our NYC home, The Cutting Room.

What Makes
Rockit Academy Different
Come experience a show to fully understand the caliber of music produced by young musicians!
The Rockit curriculum is built to bring every student to their highest potential. Rehearsals are attended by like-minded, passionate musicians who are there because they want to hone their craft.
A misconception is that every student that auditions already is an expert at their instrument. On the contrary, Rockit staff recognizes potential and passion and develops that potential.
